The Preston Prevention Partnership brings together community members, schools, healthcare providers, law enforcement, local government, businesses, faith organizations, and nonprofit agencies to address substance misuse and improve community well-being. Through collaboration, the coalition identifies local needs, develops prevention strategies, and works collectively to create lasting positive change across Preston County
PPP coordinates evidence-informed prevention programs and community education designed to reduce risk factors and strengthen protective factors for individuals and families. Initiatives include youth leadership opportunities, substance use prevention education, mental health promotion, community awareness campaigns, prescription drug safety, overdose prevention, and intergenerational programming that promotes healthy lifestyles and resilience.

Save a Life Day 2025
The Preston Prevention Partnership Coalition brings together community members and organizations to collaboratively promote mental and physical wellness while preventing substance misuse and addictive behaviors. Through evidence-based, measurable, and culturally responsive strategies, the Coalition works to improve the overall health, resilience, safety, and quality of life of all residents in Preston County.

The ICEC Collaborative uses local data from the Integrated Community Engagement Collaborative (ICEC) survey to identify community strengths, risk factors, and priority needs affecting Preston County youth. The committee works with schools, families, and community partners to develop data-informed prevention strategies, evaluate community trends, and guide coalition planning to improve youth health, safety, and well-being.
This committee provides leadership and recommendations for the use of opioid settlement funds to address prevention, treatment, recovery, and harm reduction throughout Preston County. Members review community needs, identify funding priorities, and support evidence-informed initiatives that reduce the impact of substance use while strengthening long-term recovery supports.
The Family Engagement, Mental Health & Resiliency Committee focuses on strengthening families by promoting positive mental health, resilience, and protective factors across all ages. Through education, support programs, and community partnerships, the committee works to increase access to resources, reduce stigma, and empower families to build healthy, connected, and resilient communities.
The Community Awareness & Education Committee increases public understanding of substance use prevention, mental health, and healthy lifestyles through outreach, educational campaigns, community events, and partnerships. The committee promotes evidence-based prevention messages while connecting residents with local resources and opportunities to improve community wellness.
The Youth Action Team empowers young people to become leaders in creating a healthier Preston County. Youth members identify issues affecting their peers, develop prevention campaigns, participate in community service projects, provide input on coalition initiatives, and advocate for positive change. By giving youth a meaningful voice in community decision-making, the committee helps build leadership skills while promoting healthy choices and substance-free lifestyles.
